GFI ships box nos. 37 &38 to Mindanao
GFI ships box nos. 37 & 38 containing books and school supplies to Mindanao
June 20, 2007 Doraville, GA
Galing Foundation, Inc. ships box #37 & 38 (invoice no. 63335 via www.monluusa.com) to Mr. David Pandato, Principal at Blaan Dalel Christian Academy and to Mrs. Aurea D. Mirayo, Principal at Kipalkuda Elementary School c/o Jocelyn Robles.
Ms. Arjho C. Turner, GFI Dir. for Mindanao says, "The school supplies and books (Science, Math, English, Physics, History, Christian books, illustrative story telling books, etc) are very appropriate and useful for the Blaan Dalel Christian Academy. Through time, books and other resource materials sent to the school will form significant role in having their own library. This is a big help for the Blaan Evangelistic Mission, Inc. as the school is the first school for the Blaan tribe in South Cotabato, Philippines. With respect to English literacy, reading materials are best tools for improving thier reading skills and English competency.
The slightly used toys can form part of the kindergarten playroom. The kids up in Amgu-o Village are bereft of these nice toys. Now they can have a communal playroom to enjoy those toys. The clothings sent can be given under the supervision of the school principal for the least fortunate school children that can fit in the size of the clothes.
The books and reading materials sorted for the Kipalkuda Elementray School will as well benefit the Tboli kids English litearcy and reading comprehension. Some supplies included in the box like those of small kithen utensils will be of big help for the lunch program sponsored by the Datu Wali Mission. Clothes sent will also benefit kids that has to cross rivers several times just to go to school, thus, distribution will be made by the Principal for identified recipients."
