Governor Sonny Perdue, community organization members and leaders gathered at the North Wing of State Capitol for the official proclaimation of May as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. Through the leadership of Dr. Josephine Tan, Chair of Asian American Commission for a New Georgia Community and Economic Development, a brief ceremony and a reception was held to honor Asian American's consistent contribution in the United States throughout its history. Today, Asian American population in Georgia continues to rise and becoming more actively involved as stake holders of a better and diverse community.
